Submissions policy

NGCA welcomes submissions from artists, which should be submitted by post to:
Programme Director, Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art, City Library and Arts Centre, Fawcett Street, Sunderland SR1 1RE.

In the first instance artists wishing to submit materials for consideration should send a typed CV and statement along with full contact details, press coverage if applicable, and 6 images on CD, slide or as prints, or a showreel if appropriate.

Exhibitions in both the Project Space and Main Gallery are programmed roughly 12-24 months in advance, to comply with funding agreements and to allow developmental time for artists to create new work.

We receive a very high number of applications each year and will endeavour to look thoroughly at all and respond with 8 weeks. In certain instances it may be useful for the gallery to retain material for future reference.
